Sample Itinerary and Expectations |
Expectations for Youth Participants on the Mission of Peace:
- High School Senior or younger in the year of the trip.
- Upon return, will share the MOP story at least 5 times with church/civic groups.
- Individual pre-travel prayer, study, and preparation.
- Keeping a journal during the MOP.
- Raise funds and meet payment schedule: $1000. due on 6/15, 8/1, 9/15, 11/1.
- Commit to and keep the MOP "Covenant of Conduct" which is determined by the group during the orientation on the first days of the MOP.
Mission of Peace Package Includes:
- Round trip Air Service from "home" airport
- Accomodations in all cities
- Full Board... breakfast, lunch, dinner
- All transportation during MOP
- All transfers, tips, taxes and handling fees
- Services of local guides
- Family Group Leaders (Adult Advisors)
- Tours, museums and program fees
Sample Itinerary
- Day 1 Arrival Day
- Orientation begins in meeting room
- Greeted at airport by welcome delegation?
- Welcome party .... early afternoon or after dinner?
- Our group will be very tired after the long flight....
- Day 2 Orientation
- Including... a speaker to tell us the history of the country
a speaker to tell us the social/political/economic reality
- One speaker in the morning... another in afternoon.. about 1 hour each
- New Year's Eve and Day in here somewhere...
- Worship in a church on this evening... if that is a traditional experience on New Year's Eve.
- What are the ways (if any) people celebrate/worship on New Year's Eve?
- New Year's Day
- Is this a holiday? Are there special things to do or see?
- Day 3 - Day 15 or so
- Each day might include some time to meet with Youth some time to sight see/learn about country
- some time for us to meet in our Family Groups...
- We definitely hope to Worship with the Christian people as often as possible!
